Who am I  read about AquariusClick here to read about Aquarius

My name is Theda Fritz. For those of you who follow Astrology, I am an Aquarius (February 13). I know what you're thinking and NEVER MIND *S*. To find out what my name means, and yours, click here. It has been said that people tend to define who they are by what they do. In that case I am a wife, a mother of three, a grandmother of ten, friend of many (I hope), avid reader, hobbist, science fiction fan, pc/internet addict, etc. My hometown is St. Louis, Missouri and yes the weather does change daily. This page has just grown in length with the addition of the pc prayer but I hope you will stick around til the end and find out a bit more about me. Thanks.

Upon looking at my site and working on it in depth, I have come to a couple of conclusions; I love flowers and earth tone colors...the greens and browns and russets. They say these are the colors of a passionate being and I am; about life, causes, friends, family, etc.

My Interests

I like to read books of all types. I especially like mysteries and Sci-Fi. One of my favorite authors is Dean Koontz. I love flowers, feeding the birds and backyard bird watching.  I have learned I am a computer/internet addict :). I also make porcelain dolls and ornaments. To see some of my creations click here! I own two kilns and enjoy the creative process very much. I love all of the Star Trek series from the original series to the current one, Enterprise.

Work

Formerly I was an Executive Secretary for a construction company where I did a little bit of everything from scheduling my boss' appointments to taking his vehicle for tune ups. Now I know what the term "Jack of All Trades" means. I now do secretarial work from home. I am also a trustee for my subdivision (my five year term expires July 1, 2002). I usually run out of time to do all the things I would like to do but that's OK because I like being involved.

Online Friends

Here are several of my favorite pages. Take a peek at them. I know you will enjoy them.

~My daughter Cheryl has changed direction with her web site and at this time no longer has her graphics/journal site open. Since she and my granddaughter both suffer from multiple medical disorders she is focusing on that and has a page full of wonderful information on various disorders and the links for help if you too suffer from multiple disorders. Cheryl has Sjogren's Syndrome with complications and Sarah was born with Down's Syndrome and developed Infantile Seizures after heart surgery which led to small strokes which in turn caused Cerebral Palsy on the left side of her body. Sarah is getting physical therapy and aquatic therapy which are both helping tremendously.

An update, Sarah turned 4 on March 20, 2002, and has begun to walk. That may not be exciting to some, but to us it is wonderful! It's been a long road getting there. Go visit them at Multiple Disorders, Support & Information

Cheri has had to go offline for awhile but her wonderful page is still there and worth taking a peek at.

~Kathy has started her home page again in a new location with a new style. She has started developing web page graphics and having a ball at it. She is an archaeologist specializing in North American Indians, has a great sense of humor and is a good friend. I first met Kath the summer of 1997 and have loved every minute of talking with her since. Visit her at  Cosmati Designs

~My granddaughter, Alison has made her first page and is she ever doing a great job. Now I know why she has a 5.0 GPA in high school. She has a really fun and tasteful page that is well worth a visit.  Kat's Corner

Alison is now a freshman at Tulsa University on a full five-year basketball scholarship and doesn't have much time to update her site but I am leaving it in her honor.

~I have devoted page four to Star Trek!  For some great Star Trek sites click here.

Computers!

I just had to add a section on Computers. I know there is a "Computer Gremlin" out there somewhere. But please! please! if there is a "Computer God" I sure could use you. A friend told me I should find someone to take the hex off of me and my pc.

I have upgraded to what I am told is the best and things just keep happening. I spent all this money on a new PII - 300, new video card, new mother board, new sound card, new hard drive, in fact everything is new except the "A" drive and the CD Rom and it is only 1 1/2 years old. Well, you guessed it. My original two hard drives disintegrated before my very eyes while the tech was installing all the parts(making it necessary to buy a new one) so of course I got a 7 GB HD. It burned up too. Replaced it and got another one that was bad from the factory. Well after finally getting all the parts working, I had to take it in to the shop because the new processor has a sensor which kept beeping and waking me up at night. I went away for a week and came back to a pc that wouldn't work. ("The Gremlin") It seems the processor was at 165 degrees...ouch. So I replaced it with a PII 333 which runs cooler. One problem solved! For now!

And all this time, I have this pesky file from Microsoft called VMM32.vxd that just will not load at times. Without that file nothing works. So....once again almost everything was replaced. Great! Right? Wrong! This particular devil is still jumping up at me so it's back to the shop to replace the ram and hopefully that will solve the problem.

Could the problem be a conflict between Netscape and IE4? Who knows? I use them both and I KNOW that Bill Gates is a little proprietary with his property so maybe there is a Netscape destruct file built in there. *S* I have friends who have used their pc's for years with absolutely no problems and I can't use this one for three months. I have totally cleaned the hard drive four times now and it is getting old. I used to be so anxious to go into my room to use the computer and get online and now I am nervous to even sit in the chair and look at it. It might bite next. I sort of try to sneak up on it and if I am really good, it lets me in for awhile.

So please, if there is a "computer God" let him smile on me this time. I really do like you! I do! Please take this hex off of me and my P.C.

News Flash A young friend of mine named Kala, recently told me there are indeed computer Gods...they are called Max the Axe and Rusty the Red :) Apparently Rusty the Red is the nice one but Max the Axe demands penny sacrifices in order to allow the pc to function properly. Please let me make friends with Rusty, quickly!

This just in! After all the time and expense that I have been though, I think the problem has been solved with a little update file from UMAX. Yes, it turns out that my scanner software was in conflict with other system software and finally my PC Tech ran into the problem with another brand new computer he just built. It was fixed by installing this file. Whoopee! Too bad being a test case is so expensive and time consuming and heartbreaking when you lose your files. I had a partial backup thankfully.

Even though the problem has been solved, as we all know, it's an ongoing thing each time you even think about upgrading. And now a short time later, I no longer have the latest equipment. Isn't it always the way? *S* Well I think I will be happy with the extra 10G hard drive and 64 megs of memory that I have just added as of 03/09/00

Every evening
As I'm laying here in bed
This tiny little prayer
Keeps running thru my head

God bless my mom and dad
And bless my little pup
And look out for my brother
When things aren't looking up

And God, there's one more thing
I wish that you could do
Hope ya don't mind me asking
But please bless my 'puter too??

Now I know that's not normal
To bless a mother board
But just listen a second
While I explain to you, my Lord

You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds & ends
Inside those small compartments
Rest hundreds of my 'BEST FRIENDS'

Some it's true I've never seen
And most I've never met
We've never exchanged hugs
Or shared a meal as yet....
I know for sure they like me
By the kindness that they give
And this little scrap of metal
Is how I travel to where they live

By faith is how I know them
Much the same as you
I share in what life brings them
From that our friendship grew

"PLEASE" take an extra minute

From your duties up above
To bless this scrap of metal
That's filled with so much love!

If anyone knows who wrote the above poem I would love to give credit for it. Isn't it the truth though? I felt it deserved to be here where my computer saga was *S*
