Since time began people have been looking to the stars for guidance in their lives. There must be something to it; Nancy Reagan thought so! *S* Just because we know little about a particular subject is not reason enough to dismiss it out of hand. There have always been people who "see" things or just seem to know what will happen before it does. We are amazed and/or skeptical of their ability. It's been said that we all have pyschic abilities but we just don't use them. Maybe with practice you and I could be pyschic too...who knows?
There are many books available on Michel de Nostradamus which if interpreted correctly, would seem to prove that psychic abilities do indeed exist. His predicitions were camouflaged in quatrains because it was religious heresy to make predictions or speak of demons. I have been amazed, frightened, and dumbfounded at the predictions of Nostradamus who from his sixteenth century existence seemed to predict things in my time such as World Wars I and II. Though many of his predictions are dire indeed, he also shows ways to avoid those outcomes. Nostradamus was a medical doctor, an astrologist, herbologist and a psychic who when in a trance made his predictions of the future. He named Louis Pasteur in his writings hundreds of years before Pasteur would be born.
On the other hand, when Curt Browning said we would have and earthquake in Missouri in 1993, I purchased insurance on the offchance that he was correct. Thankfully he was not but unfortunately was discredited in the process.
I personally know very little about astrology and numerology but find it extremely interesting. In looking at the qualities for my sign, they seem to hold true for the most part. Although I wouldn't plan my life around a horoscope it's interesting and fun to look at. Sometimes it gives you a quick dash of hope or anticipation to think maybe...just maybe, I'll win the lottery today or meet "that" person (although I have already met mine *S*) but you get the idea.

Elle Magazine like many other women's magazines (as if women are the only people interested in reading their horoscopes) have monthly horoscopes and these are free. I have found that men also like to read what may happen, even though published horoscopes are very general and apply to each of us only in the most remote way. Perhaps you have gone to a pyshic reading and had many of the things you were told to come true. That has not been the case in my experience. Although I feel there are some people that have genuine "sight" I feel that the majority do not. That of course is only my personal experience with the subject. Perhaps yours has been different.
